Description
The Curved Hohmann Inferior Hip Elevator is used during hip procedures when the surgeon needs to retract tissue and expose the lower part of the hip joint. It is designed for work around the femur, acetabulum, and nearby structures, and is commonly suited to total hip arthroplasty as well as more involved reconstructive procedures.
The instrument has a 22 mm wide blade with a long, curved profile. The shape allows the working end to follow the contour of the anatomy and sit around the bony area being exposed. This is especially useful when access is deeper and a straight retractor would be difficult to position.
Two overall lengths are available: 29 cm (12″) and 40 cm (16″). The shorter version provides a more compact option, while the 40 cm model gives additional reach for deeper surgical sites. Having two lengths also allows the instrument to be selected according to the patient’s anatomy and the surgical approach being used.
The extended shape is particularly relevant in hip replacement and revision procedures, where the working area can be relatively deep. Once positioned, the curved blade can be used to keep the surrounding tissue away from the femur or acetabular region. The 22 mm width gives the working end enough surface area for this type of retraction without making it unnecessarily broad.
It is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel. It is intended for repeated surgical use and routine sterilization. With proper cleaning and maintenance, the stainless steel construction provides the durability and corrosion resistance required for regular use in the operating room.
Available in 29 cm (12″) and 40 cm (16″) lengths, the Curved Hohmann Inferior Hip Elevator provides a choice of reach for hip surgery. Its 22 mm curved blade is intended for retraction and exposure around the femur and acetabulum, particularly during arthroplasty and reconstructive procedures.
