Description
The Semb Bone Holding Forceps are used for grasping, reducing, and stabilizing bone fragments during orthopedic trauma and reconstructive procedures. They can be used during fracture fixation when a fragment needs to be held securely while it is brought into alignment. The forceps are also useful when the available working space makes positioning a conventional straight bone holder difficult.
The jaws are robust, serrated, and angled to the side. This side-angled arrangement gives the working end a different approach to the bone, particularly when surrounding anatomical structures limit access. The deep serrations engage the cortical surface and help keep the fragment in place while it is being moved or reduced.
A spring-handle construction allows the jaws to be applied and released quickly. It also gives the user direct tactile feedback while adjusting the grip. This can be useful when a fragment has to be repositioned during reduction or when the forceps need to be removed and reapplied during fixation.
The overall length is 19 cm (7½”), providing a useful combination of reach and leverage without making the instrument difficult to handle. The side-angled jaws can be positioned around bone fragments while the handle remains away from the immediate working area. The handle profile also provides a secure grip during repeated manipulation.
Before supply, the forceps are checked for their general finish and working condition. The serrated jaws, alignment, and spring action are inspected to make sure the instrument operates properly and the gripping surfaces are in good condition.
Made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, the forceps are suitable for routine cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance associated with reusable surgical instruments. Proper care helps maintain the serrated jaws, spring mechanism, and overall surface finish over repeated use.
With its side-angled serrated jaws, spring handle, and 19 cm length, the Semb Bone Holding Forceps provide a useful option for securing and manipulating bone fragments when a different working angle is needed during orthopedic and trauma procedures.
