Description
The Mini-Langenbeck Retractor is a small hand retractor for holding back skin, soft tissue, or wound edges during surgery. It is useful in plastic and reconstructive work, as well as hand and dermatologic procedures where the surgeon needs access to a relatively small area.
Two blade sizes are available. Both blades are 5 mm wide, with lengths of 10 mm and 17 mm. The 10 mm blade is suited to more limited retraction, while the 17 mm option gives a little more blade length when additional reach is useful. The narrow width keeps the point of contact fairly small.
The retractor is 16 cm (6¼”) long. Its blade can be placed directly against the tissue that needs to be held back, while the slim shaft leaves the surrounding area open for other instruments. This is especially handy in smaller surgical fields where space is already limited.
The handle has a ribbed section rather than a completely smooth surface. The raised texture gives the fingers something to hold onto when the retractor is being used for steady, controlled pressure. The compact shape also makes it easy to change the position of the blade as the procedure progresses.
It is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel and is intended for repeated surgical use. The stainless-steel construction provides the durability and corrosion resistance needed for cleaning and sterilization. The blade and handle are checked for their shape, alignment, and finish before the instrument is supplied.
For smaller operative sites, the Mini-Langenbeck Retractor gives the surgeon two narrow blade options in a compact 16 cm design, making it suitable for controlled retraction without bringing a larger instrument into the field.
