Blondeel Scissors – Round Handle are microsurgical scissors used mainly in breast reconstruction with perforator flaps. They are used while separating tissue and preparing the small vessels that supply the flap. The scissors have short curved blades and a round handle, with the working end kept small for this type of dissection.

The blades are 15 mm long and curve gently toward the front. The curved shape allows the blades to follow the tissue during dissection instead of coming in as a straight line. They can be used around perforator vessels and other small structures that need to be separated during flap preparation.

Two lengths are available. The shorter size measures 15 cm (6″) and the longer size measures 18 cm (7″). Both have 15 mm curved blades. The shorter scissors can be used when the working area is close to the hand, while the 18 cm size gives some extra reach in a deeper field.

The round-handle design is combined with two finger rings at the back, giving the instrument some of the handling features of conventional scissors while keeping the narrow body of a microsurgical instrument. The long handle sections run from the finger rings toward the blade joint, with textured areas along the sides for grip. This arrangement allows the scissors to be opened and closed through the finger rings while the fine curved blades are positioned around small vessels and tissue.

The scissors are made from surgical stainless steel with a smooth surface. The curved blades are joined at the central screw and the finger rings are checked for smooth movement.
