Description
The Humby Skin Graft Knife is used to harvest split-thickness skin grafts during plastic, reconstructive, burn, and trauma surgery. It is available in right-handed and left-handed configurations, so the instrument can be selected according to the surgeon’s preferred hand and technique.
At 36.5 cm (14¼”) overall, the knife has an extended length suited to harvesting across larger donor sites. The longer design gives the user enough room to guide the knife through a longer stroke while keeping the instrument steady. This can be useful when a larger area of skin needs to be harvested without frequent interruptions.
A grooved roller bar sits at the working end. During use, the roller both rotates and oscillates from side to side as the knife is moved across the donor skin. The position of the roller determines the depth at which the graft is taken.
The graft thickness is adjusted with the thumb screws on top of the support pillars. Turning the thumb screws raises or lowers the roller bar, allowing the cutting depth to be set before harvesting. The adjustment can be changed when a different graft thickness is required.
It is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, making it suitable for repeated use and sterilization. With proper cleaning and maintenance, the material provides durability and resistance to corrosion for continued use in a surgical setting.
Used in plastic and reconstructive surgery, burn management, hand surgery, and trauma reconstruction, the Humby Skin Graft Knife provides an adjustable method for harvesting split-thickness skin grafts across both smaller and larger donor sites.
