Description

The Martel Flap Grasping Forceps is made for holding skin flaps during surgery. It measures 14 cm (5¼”) and has ring handles with a slim shaft leading to the grasping end. The instrument can be used when a flap needs to be held securely while it is being positioned or worked on.

The jaws have a distinctive arrangement of two pins in opposing holes. When the forceps is closed, the pins meet the holes on the opposite jaw and hold the flap between them. This gives the user a more specific point of grip than a standard smooth-jawed forceps.

The 14 cm (5¼”) length keeps the instrument fairly compact. The working end can be brought close to the tissue while the ring handles remain easy to control. The forceps is opened and closed through the handles, allowing the flap to be grasped and released as required during the procedure.

The pin-and-hole arrangement is the main feature of this model. It is designed specifically for flap grasping rather than general tissue handling. The jaws can be placed on the section of flap that needs to be held, then released once the tissue no longer needs support.

Made from surgical-grade stainless steel, it is suitable for repeated surgical use. The material can withstand routine cleaning and sterilization and provides resistance to corrosion when properly maintained.

With its 14 cm (5¼”) length and two-pin opposing jaw design, the Martel Flap Grasping Forceps is a dedicated instrument for controlled handling of skin flaps during surgical procedures.
