The Kolbel Glenoid Elevator – 20 mm is a long, curved orthopedic instrument used during shoulder procedures where access around the glenoid and joint area is needed. Its extended shape gives the surgeon more working distance, while the narrow profile makes it easier to position within the operative field. It is intended for controlled elevation and retraction when working around the shoulder joint.

The working end is formed with double prongs. The two small projections give the tip a defined contact point and can be positioned against tissue or bone as required during the procedure. The pronged end is connected to a long, gently curved shaft rather than a straight one, giving the instrument its characteristic Kolbel profile.

The wider working end provides more surface than the 15 mm version of the Kolbel Glenoid Elevator, while the 30 cm length provides additional reach for deeper areas of the shoulder. The extended shaft also keeps the user’s hand farther from the operative site during use.

The curved shaft follows a gradual arc along its length. This allows the working end to approach the surgical area at an angle while the handle remains outside the immediate field. The instrument has no moving mechanism, so its use depends on the position of the curved shaft and double-prong tip.
