Description
The Bayonet Cement Rasp is designed for working on and removing excess bone cement during orthopedic procedures. At 52 cm (20½”) long, it provides considerable reach for deeper working areas. The long shaft has a bayonet bend, keeping the Tufnol handle away from the working end.
The rasp is offered in three working-end patterns: V-shape, strong round shape, and flat round curve. Each has a different profile for working against cement, so the appropriate shape can be selected according to the area and access required.
The rasped surface is designed to work gradually against the cement rather than taking away a large amount at once. The long working section gives room to move the instrument back and forth over the area being treated, while the bayonet shape changes the angle between the handle and tip.
The 52 cm (20½”) length is particularly useful when the cement is located deeper within the operative field. The shaft remains slim along most of its length before reaching the shaped Tufnol handle, which has a ridged surface for a secure hold during use.
The three working-end shapes offer some variation without changing the overall length of the instrument. The V-shaped pattern gives a more defined profile, the strong round pattern has a fuller working surface, and the flat round curve provides a flatter contact area for cement work.
The working section is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, with a Tufnol handle. Each instrument is carefully checked for quality, including the rasp surface, shaft, handle connection, and overall finish. The working end should be inspected before use for wear, damage, or changes to its shape.
The Bayonet Cement Rasp combines a long reach with three working-end patterns for controlled cement work in orthopedic procedures.
