Description
The Biopsy Rongeur is designed for retrieving small tissue samples for biopsy. It has a long, narrow shaft with a cupped jaw design at the working end. The cup-shaped jaws provide a defined space for collecting tissue as the instrument is opened and closed through the ring handles.
The working end has two opposing cupped surfaces, with the upper and lower jaws meeting at the tip. This shape is different from a flat cutting jaw and is intended specifically for taking and holding a small tissue sample. The working section remains narrow so it can be positioned within a limited surgical area.
The instrument has a straight shaft and straight jaw, giving a direct path from the handles to the working end. The long shaft keeps the ring handles away from the immediate site while the jaws are being positioned. This also gives the user a clear, simple line of control when opening and closing the rongeur.
The ring handles provide familiar finger control, with the jaws operated through the central mechanism. The cupped end opens to receive the tissue and closes around the selected sample. Its shape allows the retrieved tissue to remain within the jaw area as the instrument is withdrawn.
A flushing port for cleaning is built into the instrument near the handle. The port provides access to the internal working section during cleaning and reprocessing. This is especially useful for a long instrument with a narrow shaft and moving jaws, where proper cleaning of the internal passage is important.
Made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, the instrument is intended for repeated professional use and sterilization. Each instrument is carefully checked for quality, including the cupped jaws, straight shaft, hinge, flushing port, handles, and overall finish. The working end should be checked before use for proper jaw movement, alignment, and any visible damage.
The Biopsy Rongeur provides a cupped jaw design with a straight shaft for controlled tissue retrieval during biopsy procedures.
