Description

The Tebbets Breast Retractor (Blunt) is used in plastic and breast surgery to hold tissue away from the working area. It gives the surgeon a clear view of the surgical pocket and commonly used in breast augmentation procedures. The blunt version has a smooth working edge rather than teeth which makes it suitable when a less gripping blade is preferred.

The blade is broad and slightly angled, with a smooth blunt end that rests against the tissue during retraction. Its shape allows the surgeon to work around the breast pocket without having a sharp or toothed edge pressing into the tissue.

Fibre optic illumination runs toward the blade and connects to an external light source, directing light into the operative area. A separate suction connection is built into the handle for removing surgical smoke, which can be useful during procedures involving electrosurgical devices.

Four blade sizes are available: 90 × 24 mm, 90 × 30 mm, 150 × 36 mm, and 190 × 36 mm. The smaller options provide a narrower working surface, while the larger blades cover more tissue when a wider area needs to be held back.
