Description
The Walsham Septum Straightening Forceps are used to grasp and reposition the nasal septum during procedures where a deviated septum needs to be straightened. With an overall length of 23 cm / 9 inches, the long handles give the surgeon room to work while keeping the jaws easy to position inside the nasal area.
The forceps have broad, smooth jaws designed to hold the septal tissue without sharp cutting edges. Their shape allows the surgeon to apply steady pressure while manipulating the septum. The concave jaw pattern also helps keep the tissue in place during straightening.
These forceps are commonly used in septoplasty, rhinoplasty, and nasal reconstructive surgery. They can be used to manipulate deviated septal cartilage and, depending on the procedure, assist with correction of the nasal septum or surrounding structures. The long profile is useful when controlled force is needed deeper within the nasal area.
Three jaw patterns are available: Universal, Left, and Right. The left and right versions allow the narrower working profile to be selected according to the side being treated, while the universal pattern provides a more general option. This makes it easier to choose the shape that fits the particular surgical approach.
Made from surgical stainless steel, the forceps have a solid construction suited to repeated surgical use and sterilization. The smooth jaws are easy to inspect after cleaning, and the hinge should be checked regularly to make sure the handles move freely and the jaws meet correctly.
For septal work where firm but controlled manipulation is required, the Walsham Septum Straightening Forceps provide a long 23 cm profile with three jaw options. Their broad working ends and extended handles make them suitable for handling and straightening septal tissue during nasal procedures.
