Description

The Sheehan Osteotomes are straight osteotomes used for cutting and shaping bone in nasal and facial procedures. Each one measures 15 cm / 6″ and has a long, narrow shaft with a flat working end. The rounded handle is easy to hold, with a smooth shape that allows the instrument to be positioned and tapped as needed.

It comes in five sizes that are also available as a set: 2 mm, 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm. The 2 mm and 4 mm options are useful for narrower cuts, while the wider 8 mm and 10 mm sizes cover more of the bone. The 6 mm sits in between, giving a middle option when a broader edge is not needed.

These sizes can be used during rhinoplasty and nasal bone surgery for cutting, trimming, and reshaping bone. Osteotomes may also be used when controlled osteotomies are required to alter the nasal framework. The straight design keeps the blade easy to place against the bone before tapping.

All five sizes have the same 15 cm / 6″ length, so there is no change in overall handling when moving between them. What changes is the width of the working end. That makes the set fairly straightforward to work with when the procedure calls for a narrower cut in one area and a wider one somewhere else.

The instrument is made of surgical-grade stainless steel. The working edge is thoroughly checked by the quality officers for chips or damage, and the shaft and handle are inspected for any signs of wear.
