Description

The Nievert Chisel with Guard is a guarded chisel for cutting and reshaping bone during nasal and facial procedures. It measures 20 cm / 8″ and has a long, narrow shaft with a guarded working end. The handle has a textured surface that gives the surgeon a firm grip when positioning and tapping the instrument.

Three patterns are available: straight, curved left, and curved right. The straight version provides a direct working path, while the curved options allow the chisel to follow the left or right side of the nasal framework. All three patterns have the same 20 cm / 8″ overall length.

In rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, this type of chisel can be used for cutting, trimming, and reshaping the nasal bones. It may also be used during controlled osteotomy work when changes are being made to the nasal framework. The guard adds protection alongside the working edge while the shaft provides the reach needed around the operative area.

The curved patterns give more flexibility when the direction of access matters. A curved left chisel can be selected for work approaching the left side, while the curved right version provides the corresponding setup on the other side. The straight pattern remains useful where a direct approach is preferred.
