Description

The Obwegeser Ramus Forked Retractor is designed to retract and protect soft tissue while providing access to the ramus during maxillofacial and orthognathic procedures. It measures 22 cm / 8¾” and has an 11 mm wide blade with a long shaft and ring-style handle. The angled working end allows the retractor to reach along the ramus while keeping the handle outside the immediate surgical area.

The blade has a 70 mm working length, providing a relatively long surface for retracting tissue along the ramus. The forked profile helps position the working end against the bone while maintaining exposure of the surgical field. Its 11 mm width gives a balance between tissue contact and access in the working area.

This retractor can be used during mandibular ramus and sagittal split procedures, where the soft tissues around the ramus need to be held away from the osteotomy site. It can help expose the operative area while protecting surrounding tissue as the surgeon works along the mandibular ramus.
