Description

The Dental Cartridge Syringe is a reusable dental instrument designed for administering local anaesthetic during dental procedures. It measures 17.5 cm / 7″ in length and has a 2.2 cc capacity. The syringe has a cylindrical body with an open section along the barrel, a rear plunger assembly, and a curved finger rest at the back.

The front of the syringe has a threaded connection for attaching the dental needle, followed by the barrel that holds the cartridge. The open cartridge chamber makes the inner section of the syringe visible, while the metal frame surrounds the cartridge during use. At the rear, the plunger rod runs through the body and connects to the thumb and finger control section.

The handle arrangement has a curved thumb plate at the back with a separate finger support below it. The two parts sit on either side of the plunger assembly and give the syringe its characteristic dental-syringe shape. A small cartridge retaining section is also visible near the front of the barrel, holding the cartridge in place while the syringe is being operated.

These are used by dentists to deliver local anaesthetic for procedures such as infiltration and nerve block injections. A standard dental cartridge is placed inside the barrel before the needle is fitted to the front connection. The 2.2 cc capacity accommodates the commonly used larger dental anaesthetic cartridge size, while the long body provides enough room for the cartridge and plunger mechanism.

The surgical stainless steel construction gives the syringe a rigid metal body with a smooth surface that can be cleaned and sterilized for repeated use.
