Description
The DeBakey Aortic Clamp has a fully curved working end and long shanks leading to oval ring handles. The jaws follow a broad and rounded curve, with fine serrations along the inner gripping surfaces. This shape gives the clamp a different profile from the straighter patterns used in vascular surgery.
The clamp measures 27 cm (10¾”) in length. Its jaws form a deep curve, with the tips turning upwards towards one another. The curved design extends across most of the working end rather than forming a bend at a single point. This is the main feature that distinguishes it from clamps with straight or partly angled jaws.
The gripping surfaces are narrow and follow the curve of the jaws. Fine serrations run along the inner edges, while the outer surfaces have a smooth finish. The long shanks extend from the working end towards the central joint, keeping the ring handles well away from the tips.
The handles have finger rings, and there is also a ratchet lock close to the joint. The lock holds the jaws closed when engaged and can be released to open them. The long arms and fully curved jaws give the instrument its characteristic shape.
The clamp is made from surgical stainless steel and can be reused after proper cleaning and sterilization. Each instrument goes through our quality inspection process before dispatch. Our team checks the construction, surface finish, and overall workmanship before the clamp is packed for delivery.
The DeBakey Aortic Clamp is supplied in a 27 cm (10¾”) length with fully curved jaws. The instrument features fine serrations along the gripping surfaces, long shanks, oval finger rings, and a ratchet lock. Its broad curve sets it apart from other aortic clamp patterns and makes it a distinct option in the catalogue.
