Description
The DeBakey-Beck Paediatric Aortic Clamp has straight shanks and a compact working end with an angled jaw profile. The tips bend upwards, and the inner gripping surfaces have fine serrations. It is designed for paediatric aortic surgery, where a smaller clamp is needed for work around blood vessels.
The clamp comes in three sizes: 16.5 cm (6½”) Small, 19.5 cm (7¾”) Medium, and 20.5 cm (8″) Large. The three patterns have a similar overall shape, but the length and reach differ. The small version is used for when there is not enough space for the surgeon to work in. The large pattern provides additional length for the working area.
The jaws have a distinct bend near the tip, followed by a straighter section leading towards the joint. The inner edges have fine serrations that provide a gripping surface. The shanks extend back towards the handles without the curves seen in some other aortic clamp patterns.
Two oval finger rings form the handles, with a ratchet lock near the joint. The lock holds the jaws closed when engaged and can be released to open them. The straight shanks keep the handle line direct, while the angled tips form the main working feature of this clamp.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel and can be reused after proper cleaning and sterilization. Each clamp undergoes quality inspection before dispatch. Our team checks the construction, surface finish, and overall workmanship before packing the instrument for delivery.
The DeBakey-Beck Paediatric Aortic Clamp is available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes measuring 16.5 cm, 19.5 cm, and 20.5 cm. All three versions have straight shanks, angled tips, fine serrations, oval finger rings, and a ratchet lock. The main difference between the sizes is their overall length.
