Description
The Brompton Hospital Suction Tube is used to remove blood and other fluids from the surgical field during an operation. It has a long and curved metal tube attached to a broad handle. The shape allows the working end to reach into the operative area, while the handle gives the surgeon a place to hold and guide the instrument during suction.
The tube measures 30 cm (11¾”) in overall length and is available in adult and child sizes. The adult version connects to 9.5 mm (⅜”) tubing, while the child version connects to 6.5 mm (¼”) tubing. Both have the same general design, but the connection size differs to match the tubing used.
The working end is narrow and gently curved, with a small opening at the tip. The shaft follows a long curve before meeting the handle. This shape provides good reach when the surgeon is clearing fluid from the surgical area. The tube is slim compared with the wider handle behind it.
The handle has a broad and rounded shape. There are shallow ridges along its surface that give the fingers a textured area to hold. A connector at the rear of the handle provides the attachment point for the suction tubing. The adult and child versions retain this general layout, with the tubing connection being the main difference between them.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel and is intended for repeated use after proper cleaning and sterilization. Before dispatch, each tube goes through our quality inspection process. Our team checks the tube, handle, connector, surface finish, and overall workmanship before the instrument is packed for delivery.
The Brompton Hospital Suction Tube measures 30 cm (11¾”) and comes in adult and child sizes. The adult pattern fits 9.5 mm (⅜”) tubing, while the child pattern fits 6.5 mm (¼”) tubing. Both versions have a curved working tube, a ridged handle, and a rear connector for attachment to suction equipment.
