Description
The Needle Holder is a surgical instrument used to hold and guide a needle during suturing. It has long, narrow arms with finger rings at one end and gripping jaws at the other. The range includes straight and curved jaws in several widths, from fine 1.4 mm and 2 mm tips to broader 3 mm and 4 mm jaws. This variety allows the holder to be selected according to the needle size and the working area.
The available models have overall lengths of 25 cm, 28 cm, or 34 cm. The 25 cm versions include a 2 mm straight jaw and 3 mm jaws in straight or curved patterns, all with a 10 mm shaft. The 28 cm range includes 2 mm straight jaws, and several 4 mm jaw options, along with a 1.4 mm delicate straight jaw.
The 4 mm jaw models are available in straight and curved patterns, with 7 mm or 10 mm shafts depending on the version. These include 28 cm and 34 cm instruments. The longer 34 cm range offers both straight and curved 4 mm jaws, giving the user a choice of working-end shape and shaft diameter. The longer length can be useful when suturing requires additional reach.
The jaws have a narrow gripping surface designed to hold a suture needle securely during placement. The straight-jaw patterns keep the tip in line with the shaft, while the curved versions approach the working area at an angle. The handles end in oval finger rings, and gold-coloured handles. The jaw inserts are made with Tungsten Carbide, as specified for this range.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel, with Tungsten Carbide jaw inserts for needle grip. Before dispatch, each needle holder passes through our quality inspection process. Our team checks the jaw alignment, gripping surfaces, joint, shaft, handles, surface finish and overall workmanship before packing it for delivery.
