Description

The Caspar Bone Graft Holder and Impactor is designed for holding, positioning, and impacting structural bone grafts during cervical and other spinal reconstructive procedures. Combining these two functions in one instrument makes it possible to hold the graft while it is being positioned and then apply controlled pressure once it is in place.

The instrument has a 6 × 12 mm dowel-style holding tip, which is designed to engage larger structural grafts during insertion. This can be useful when working with block grafts or during vertebral body replacement procedures, where the graft needs to stay securely in position while it is being aligned.

Once the graft is in the right position, the same instrument can be used to apply controlled impaction force and seat it into the prepared space. Having the holder and impactor together also means there is less need to change instruments between these steps.

The Tufnol handle provides a firm grip during positioning and impaction. It also helps absorb some of the vibration produced when the instrument is struck, making the handle more comfortable to use when repeated impacts are needed.

It is made from surgical-grade stainless steel and goes through quality control inspection before it is supplied. The instrument is checked for its overall finish and condition, while the holding tip and handle are inspected to make sure they are properly finished and secure. The working mechanism is also checked to ensure it functions as intended. These checks help ensure that the instrument is in good working condition before use. The stainless-steel construction also makes it suitable for regular cleaning and maintenance as a reusable surgical instrument.

With its 6 × 12 mm holding tip, combined holder and impactor design, and Tufnol handle, the Caspar Bone Graft Holder and Impactor provides a practical option for structural graft placement during spinal reconstruction. It allows the graft to be held, positioned, and impacted with the same instrument, keeping the process straightforward.
