The Stratte Needle Holder is made for suturing where space is tight and reaching the needle with a straight holder is not easy. It is used in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, as well as other procedures involving deeper operative fields. The curved body changes the angle at which the needle can be approached and can keep the handle from getting in the way of the surgeon’s view.

Instead of ordinary jaw surfaces, this instrument uses tungsten carbide inserts. They provide the grip needed to keep the needle in place while it is being passed through tissue. Tungsten carbide is also well suited to repeated use, since the gripping surfaces are made to resist wear.

There are two versions to choose from, standard curved and reverse curved. The difference is useful when the direction of access changes. In one situation the curve may bring the jaws naturally toward the suture line; in another, the reverse pattern may be the easier one to work with. The right choice will depend on the approach and the position of the tissue.

This needle holder is particularly useful in a field where the surgeon does not have much room to move. A curved holder can reach around structures without requiring the hand to sit directly over the working area. That can make needle placement easier to see and manage during deeper suturing.

The body is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel and the jaws contain tungsten carbide inserts. Before supply, each instrument is checked for jaw alignment, movement, and general finish. These checks are important with a needle holder because even a small problem at the jaws can affect how the needle is held. Routine cleaning and sterilization should be carried out according to established instrument-care procedures.

There is no complicated mechanism to this design. Its main advantage is the shape of the working end and the grip provided by the carbide inserts. For cardiovascular, thoracic, and other deep-field procedures, the Stratte Needle Holder gives the surgeon a curved option when a conventional straight needle holder is not convenient.
