Description

The Wide Prong PCL Retractor is made for exposing the posterior cruciate ligament during knee surgery. It can be used during ligament reconstruction, revision procedures, and arthroplasty when the surgeon needs to hold the surrounding tissue away from the working area. The wider fork gives it more contact with the tissue around the ligament than the standard PCL retractor.

The working end is forked, allowing the retractor to sit across the cruciate ligament and the nearby structures. Its 5 mm wide prongs and 23 mm tip width give the working end a broader contact area. This is useful when a little more tissue needs to be held back while keeping the PCL area visible.

The shaft has an anatomically curved shape. It is designed for placement around the contours of the knee, including the intercondylar notch and posterior compartment. The overall length is 25 cm (10″), giving the instrument enough reach for work inside the joint while leaving the handle accessible outside the operative area.

An integrated finger ring is located at the proximal end. It gives the surgeon a firm place to hold the instrument and makes it easier to adjust the retractor or maintain its position during the procedure. The curved shaft, forked end, and finger ring work together as a fairly simple setup without adding unnecessary bulk to the instrument.

It is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel. It is intended for repeated surgical use and routine sterilization. Proper cleaning and maintenance help preserve the instrument’s surface and its resistance to corrosion.
