Description
The Norfolk and Norwich Deeper Prongs S/R Retractor is a self-retaining surgical retractor designed to provide reliable tissue retraction and sustained exposure in deeper operative fields. Commonly used in orthopedic, trauma, reconstructive, and general surgical procedures, it allows surgeons to maintain consistent tissue separation without continuous manual assistance, improving both efficiency and visibility during surgery.
The instrument features opposing 4 × 5 blunt prongs designed to securely engage tissue while minimizing unnecessary trauma. Its deeper-prong configuration incorporates a prong depth of 70 mm and a width of 23 mm, providing excellent access and retraction capability in procedures requiring exposure of deeper anatomical structures. The blunt-prong design helps protect surrounding tissues while maintaining stable retraction throughout the procedure.
With an overall length of 20 cm (8″), the retractor offers an excellent balance of reach, leverage, and control. The integrated ratchet locking mechanism allows precise adjustment of the retraction width and maintains consistent tissue separation once positioned. Its self-retaining design frees the surgical team from manual retraction and helps optimize operative workflow.
Manufactured from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, every Norfolk and Norwich Deeper Prongs S/R Retractor undergoes stringent quality control inspection to ensure durability, corrosion resistance, and dependable long-term performance. Its deep-prong profile and reliable self-retaining functionality make it a valuable instrument for demanding surgical exposures.
