Description
The Cones Self Retaining Retractor is a versatile self-retaining surgical instrument designed to provide dependable tissue retraction and exposure during orthopedic, spinal, plastic, reconstructive, and general surgical procedures. Its self-retaining mechanism maintains consistent tissue separation without continuous manual assistance, helping improve surgical efficiency and visualization throughout the procedure.
The instrument features opposing 3 × 4 prongs and incorporates jointed arms that provide greater flexibility during positioning and retraction. This design allows the retractor to adapt more effectively to varying anatomical contours while maintaining stable tissue exposure. The instrument is available in both sharp and blunt prong configurations. Sharp prongs provide firm tissue engagement and secure retraction, while blunt prongs offer more atraumatic tissue handling when working around delicate soft tissue structures.
The Cones Self Retaining Retractor is offered in multiple size configurations to accommodate different surgical approaches and operative depths. The 13 cm (5″) models feature a 15 mm depth and are ideal for smaller surgical exposures. The 16 cm (6½”) models also incorporate a 15 mm depth while providing additional reach. For procedures requiring deeper exposure, the 20 cm (8″) models provide a 20 mm depth, while the largest 24 cm (9½”) models feature a 25 mm depth for enhanced access to deeper anatomical structures. These options allow surgeons to select the most appropriate retractor based on operative depth, tissue thickness, and procedural requirements.
The blunt-prong range includes 13 cm with a 15 mm depth, 16 cm with a 15 mm depth, 20 cm with a 20 mm depth, and 24 cm with a 25 mm depth. The sharp-prong range includes 13 cm with a 15 mm depth, 16 cm with a 15 mm depth, 20 cm with a 20 mm depth, and 24 cm with a 25 mm depth. Manufactured from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, every Cones Self Retaining Retractor undergoes stringent quality control inspection to ensure durability, corrosion resistance, and dependable long-term performance.
