Description
The Pitanguy Forceps is a flap demarcator used for accurate marking of facial flaps before excision. It is designed for facelift and facial soft tissue procedures where the area to be removed needs to be clearly identified before the excision is carried out.
The forceps has a long, narrow working end with fine opposing tips. These ends allow the flap to be held while the desired marking is made. The slender shape is useful around the contours of the face, where a larger instrument could make positioning more difficult.
The Pitanguy Forceps is available in two lengths: 15 cm (6″) and 26 cm (10¼”). The 15 cm version is the more compact option for facial procedures, while the longer 26 cm version is intended for use with abdominal flaps. The additional length gives the user more reach when working over a larger area.
The ring handles provide a familiar way to hold and control the forceps, while the long shaft keeps the hands away from the immediate working area. The instrument can be positioned on the flap and used as a guide while marking the tissue for excision.
Made from surgical-grade stainless steel, it is intended for repeated surgical use. The material provides the durability required for regular handling and resistance to corrosion when the instrument is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
With its fine working end and two available lengths, the Pitanguy Forceps provides a straightforward way to mark facial flaps accurately before excision, with the longer version also suitable for abdominal flap procedures.
