Description
The Castroviejo Micro Needle Holder is made for fine suturing in cardiovascular, vascular, ophthalmic, and other microsurgical procedures. Its compact profile and fine jaws allow the surgeon to work with small needles where a conventional needle holder would be too large. The flat handle also gives the fingers a stable surface for controlled movements during delicate work.
The straight jaws measure 1.2 mm and are available in smooth or fine serrated patterns. The choice between the two depends on the type of grip preferred for the procedure. The fine working end is intended for small sutures, including needles up to 6/0, where precise handling is important and even small movements can affect needle placement.
A locking mechanism is available for surgeons who prefer the jaws to remain secured around the needle, while the non-locking version allows the grip to be adjusted freely by hand. This gives the instrument some flexibility across different microsurgical techniques without changing its basic working profile.
Four length options are available: 13 cm, 18 cm, 21 cm, and 23 cm. Shorter versions can be easier to manage in more confined fields, while the longer patterns provide additional reach when the working area is deeper. The flat handle keeps the instrument easy to position between the fingers during repeated suturing.
This needle holder is fitted with tungsten carbide jaws, providing a wear-resistant gripping surface for repeated use. Each instrument undergoes quality inspection, including checks of jaw alignment and gripping action, so the working ends meet the required standard before supply. The instrument is manufactured from premium surgical stainless steel for demanding clinical use.
With several lengths, jaw patterns, and locking options available, the Castroviejo Micro Needle Holder can be selected according to the surgeon’s technique and the requirements of the operative field. Its fine straight jaws make it particularly suited to microsurgical suturing where controlled needle handling is essential.
