Description

The Charnley Bone Curette is used for scraping and removing bone during orthopedic procedures. It has a 37 cm (15″) length and a T-handle, giving the instrument a long reach while allowing it to be held firmly during use.

The working end is a rounded spoon-shaped cup designed to collect bone as it is scraped from the surgical site. Three cup sizes are available: 14 mm, 17 mm, and 22 mm. The smaller cup can be used where the working area is limited, while the larger sizes provide a broader surface for removing more material.

The long shaft is useful when the area being treated is deeper and a shorter curette would be difficult to position. The cup sits at the end of the narrow shaft, keeping the T-handle well away from the working end.

The T-handle gives the user a different grip from a standard straight-handled curette. It allows the instrument to be guided with both hands when needed and gives good control while pressure is applied to the cup.

The three cup options provide some flexibility during orthopedic procedures. The 14 mm, 17 mm, and 22 mm cups can be selected according to the size of the area being treated and the amount of bone that needs to be removed.

Made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, the curette is intended for repeated professional use and sterilization.
