Description
The Silver Chisel with Guard (Frenchay) is a guarded nasal chisel used for bone work during rhinoplasty and facial surgery. It measures 18 cm / 7″ and has a long, slim working shaft. The guard runs alongside the cutting edge, while the broad handle gives the surgeon a steady hold during use.
Three patterns are available: straight, curved left, and curved right. The straight pattern gives a direct approach to the bone, while the curved versions can be chosen when the working angle needs to follow the left or right side of the nasal framework. All three have the same 18 cm length.
During rhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, and osteotomy procedures, the chisel can be used for cutting, trimming, and reshaping the nasal bones. The guarded edge is useful when working close to surrounding structures, while the different shaft patterns give more choice in how the instrument reaches the area being treated.
The curved left and curved right versions are especially useful when the direction of the approach changes from one side of the nose to the other. The straight version offers a more direct working path. The long shaft also keeps the hand comfortably away from the immediate operative area while maintaining control of the working end.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel, giving it the strength and durability expected from a reusable surgical chisel. Each piece goes through our quality inspection process before dispatch. Our inspectors check the cutting edge, guard, shaft, handle, surface finish, and overall construction so that every instrument meets our quality standards before it is packed for delivery.
For nasal bone work, the Silver Chisel with Guard (Frenchay) offers three working patterns in an 18 cm / 7″ instrument. The choice of straight, curved left, or curved right makes it easier to select the configuration that fits the surgeon’s preferred approach during rhinoplasty, nasal reconstruction, and related facial procedures.
