Description
The Obwegeser Nasal Septum Osteotome is used for working on bone around the nasal septum. It measures 18 cm / 7¼” and has a long, slightly curved shaft with a broad striking end. The working tip is narrow, and numbered markings run along the shaft, giving the surgeon a simple reference while positioning the instrument.
It comes in 4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm widths. The 4 mm size has the narrowest working edge, while the 8 mm option covers a wider area. The 6 mm version sits between the two. This gives a choice of working widths without changing the overall length or general handling of the instrument.
For septoplasty and nasal reconstructive surgery, it can be used to cut and remove bone from the septal area. The long shaft helps reach deeper parts of the nasal framework, while the rounded striking end can be tapped with a surgical mallet. The shape also keeps the hand away from the immediate working area.
The graduations are marked along the shaft and provide a useful visual reference during the procedure. The working end remains narrow and straight, while the opposite end is wider for striking. Together, these features give the osteotome a simple design suited to controlled work on septal bone.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel for repeated surgical use and sterilization. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. Our quality inspectors check the working edge, shaft, graduations, striking end, surface finish, and overall construction to make sure the finished instrument meets our quality standards.
For septal bone work, the Obwegeser Nasal Septum Osteotome offers three working widths: 4 mm, 6 mm, and 8 mm, in an 18 cm / 7¼” length. Its graduated shaft and solid striking end make it suitable for controlled bone cutting and removal during septoplasty and related nasal procedures.
