Description

The Tessier-Rowe Disimpaction Forceps are designed for controlled mobilization and advancement of the maxilla or midface during maxillofacial procedures. They measure 23 cm / 9″ and have separate nasal and oral blades with a 40 mm blade separation. The large curvature of the blades allows the forceps to reach the surgical area while helping keep the blades away from the teeth.

They are available in left and right side configurations. The nasal blade is positioned above the oral blade, while the oral blade is shaped to adapt to the curvature of the palate. The side-specific design allows the instrument to follow the anatomy on the corresponding side during maxillary mobilization.

These forceps are used for maxillary advancement in Le Fort I, II, and III procedures. Once the maxilla has been mobilized, the forceps can be positioned with the nasal and oral blades around the maxilla to apply controlled traction and help advance the facial segment. The design is intended for use where access and controlled movement of the maxilla are required.

The large blade curvature helps keep the working ends clear of the teeth during use. The asymmetrical oral blades follow the shape of the palate, which can be high and concave, allowing the forceps to sit more naturally against the oral side of the maxilla. The long handles also provide useful leverage when applying controlled force.

The instrument has a surgical stainless steel construction suited to repeated surgical use and sterilization. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. Our quality inspectors examine the nasal and oral blades, curved arms, joint, handles, surface finish, and overall construction to make sure each instrument meets our required quality standards before it is packed for delivery.

For maxillary mobilization, the Tessier-Rowe Disimpaction Forceps provide side-specific nasal and oral blade profiles with a 40 mm working separation. Their curved design and asymmetrical oral blades make them suitable for controlled advancement of the maxilla during Le Fort procedures and related maxillofacial surgery.
