Description
The Universal Wire Cutting Scissors measure 13.5 cm / 5¼” in length and are made for cutting surgical wire. The scissors have two large finger rings, a central screw joint, and short blades that angle slightly away from the handles. The cutting edges are fitted with tungsten carbide, as indicated for this instrument.
The handles are long and slim, with large rounded finger rings at the back. The blades are much shorter than the handles and have a noticeable upward curve towards the tips. One blade has a small stepped section near the joint, while the other follows the shape of the lower handle before meeting the cutting edge.
The working ends are fairly short and broad compared with the narrow shanks. The angled blades meet at a central screw joint and open away from each other when the rings are separated. The cutting edges extend close to the tips, leaving a compact working area rather than the long blades seen on ordinary surgical scissors.
These scissors are used for cutting wire during oral and maxillofacial procedures. They can be used when trimming wires after fixation or when working with wire used around the jaws. The angled shape keeps the handles away from the immediate working area while the short blades are brought up to the wire.
The surgical stainless steel construction gives the scissors a firm metal body with smooth surfaces, while the cutting edges contain tungsten carbide. The handles, shanks, and joint are designed as a reusable scissors assembly. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. Our quality inspectors examine the blade alignment, carbide edges, screw joint, finger rings, surface finish, and overall movement before the scissors are packed.
The Universal Wire Cutting Scissors measure 13.5 cm / 5¼” and have tungsten carbide cutting edges. The short angled blades, long finger rings, and central joint give the scissors their distinct wire-cutting shape for use with surgical wiring materials.
