Description
The DeBakey Oschner Aortic Clamp has angled shanks and a Satinsky jaw pattern. The jaws are long and narrow, with a pronounced bend near the tip and serrations along the inner gripping surfaces. The shape gives the clamp an offset profile, unlike instruments with straight shanks and jaws.
This clamp measures 22 cm (8½”) in length. Its angled shanks change the position of the jaws in relation to the handles, while the Satinsky pattern gives the working end its distinctive shape. The overall length provides reach beyond the handle area, which is useful when positioning the instrument during aortic surgery.
The jaws extend forward before turning at an angle, then continue along a second section towards the joint. The inner edges have fine serrations, while the outer edges are smooth. Both jaws follow the same general shape and sit opposite one another when closed.
The handles have two oval finger rings and a ratchet lock near the joint. The lock holds the jaws closed when engaged and releases when the clamp needs to open. The shanks have several changes in direction between the handles and the working end, giving this pattern its angled profile.
Made from surgical stainless steel, the clamp is intended for repeated use after proper cleaning and sterilization. Each instrument undergoes quality inspection before dispatch. Our team checks the construction, surface finish, and overall workmanship before the product is packed.
The DeBakey Oschner Aortic Clamp is supplied in a 22 cm (8½”) length with angled shanks and Satinsky jaws. It has serrated gripping surfaces, oval finger rings, and a ratchet lock. These features distinguish it from straight-shank aortic clamps and other patterns with a different jaw shape.
