Description
The Carroll Tendon Retriever is designed for retrieving and guiding tendon tissue during orthopedic procedures. It has a curved working shaft and a compact 11 cm (4¼”) overall length. The curved profile allows the instrument to follow the natural path of the tendon rather than approaching it only in a straight line.
The working end is narrow and slightly pointed, giving it a small profile for passing around or beneath tendon tissue. The curved shaft then sweeps back toward the handles, keeping the hand away from the immediate working area while the tip is being positioned.
At 11 cm (4¼”), this is a relatively short instrument, making it suitable for close work where a longer retriever could be difficult to control. The curved shape also changes the angle at which the tip approaches the tendon, which can be useful when the tissue cannot be reached conveniently with a straight instrument.
The handle has two finger rings, allowing the instrument to be held and opened in the same familiar way as other ring-handled surgical forceps. The jaws are operated from the handles through the central joint, while the long curved section provides the reach between the hand and working end.
The curved working end is the main feature of this retriever. Its shape allows the tip to be guided around tendon tissue and then brought back toward the hand. The narrow profile keeps the instrument from taking up unnecessary space around the operative site while the tendon is being retrieved.
Made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, the instrument is intended for repeated professional use and sterilization. Each instrument is carefully checked for quality, including the working tip, curved shaft, hinge, handles, and overall finish. The tip and shaft should be inspected before use for bending, misalignment, or other damage.
The Carroll Tendon Retriever combines an 11 cm (4¼”) length with a curved working profile for controlled tendon retrieval during orthopedic procedures.
