Description

The Chisel/Osteotome with Flexible Interchangeable Blades is designed for orthopedic bone work where the blade needs to follow the shape of the working area. The instrument is 20 cm (8″) long and uses interchangeable blades that can be changed with the supplied Allen key. It is noted as useful for shoulder and foot surgery.

The flexible blades have a slim, flat shape and can be fitted to the handle as needed. This gives the surgeon a choice of working ends without having to use a separate handle for every blade size. The handle is broad and easy to hold, while the metal section at the front secures the selected blade.

For the chisel, the available blade widths are 5 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, and 25 mm. A complete chisel set is supplied with 4 blades and a key. The osteotome version has the same range of 5 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 15 mm, and 25 mm, with a complete set supplied with 3 blades and a key.

The interchangeable setup is useful when the required cutting width changes during a procedure. Instead of changing the entire instrument, the blade can be removed and another size fitted using the Allen key. A handle-only option is also available separately.

The blades are made for controlled bone cutting and shaping, while their flexible construction allows some adjustment to the working angle. This can be useful around areas such as the shoulder and foot where access may vary depending on the surgical approach.
