Description
The Comfort Cobb Elevator is designed for lifting and separating soft tissue from the vertebral column during spinal and orthopedic procedures. It can be used to elevate paraspinal muscles, periosteum, and other soft tissues from the bone when a clear working area is needed.
The instrument has a broad, smooth spatulated blade that provides a good surface for controlled tissue elevation. The blade is available in 10 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm, and 30 mm widths, which give surgical teams several options depending on the area being exposed. Smaller widths can be useful for more focused dissection, while wider blades provide more coverage when a larger amount of tissue needs to be moved.
The smooth blade profile allows the elevator to be worked along the bony surface while keeping the movement controlled. This can be useful when developing a clean surgical plane and exposing the vertebral structures without using an unnecessarily aggressive working end.
The comfort-style handle has an enlarged ergonomic shape that gives the hand a secure grip during use. It also provides useful leverage when the instrument is being used for longer periods. At 32 cm (12½”) overall, with a 20 cm (8″) handle, the elevator provides good reach for deeper spinal exposures while remaining manageable in the hand.
It is made from surgical-grade stainless steel and goes through quality control inspection before it is supplied. The instrument is checked for its overall finish and condition, while the blade and handle are inspected to make sure they are properly finished and secure. These checks help ensure that the instrument is in good working condition before use. The stainless-steel construction also makes it suitable for regular cleaning and maintenance as a reusable surgical instrument.
With its smooth spatulated blade, 10 mm to 30 mm width options, comfort-style handle, and 32 cm length, the Comfort Cobb Elevator provides a practical option for controlled tissue elevation and spinal exposure. The different blade sizes and ergonomic handle make it suitable for both focused dissection and wider tissue reflection during spinal procedures.
