Description
The DeBakey Peripheral Clamp has curved shanks with a 45° bend near the working end. The jaws are long and narrow that is the main feature of vascular clamps. The jaws have fine serrations along the inner surfaces. This pattern is used in peripheral vascular surgery to clamp blood vessels where an angled approach is needed.
The clamp comes in two lengths: 19 cm (7½”) and 26 cm (8½”). Both versions have the same general shape, but the longer model provides additional reach in limited areas. The curved shanks change the position of the jaws in relation to the handles, which can be useful when access to the vessel is limited.
The working end has straight and slender jaws. However, the shanks bend at an angle closer to the joint. The fine serrations running along the gripping surfaces make it easier to hold surfaces. The combination of narrow jaws and angled shanks distinguishes this pattern from the straight-shank and other angled versions in the DeBakey peripheral clamp range.
The handles have two oval finger rings and there is also a ratchet lock that sits near the joint. The lock keeps the jaws closed when engaged and can be released when the clamp needs to be opened. The long arms connect the handles to the angled working end.
The clamp is made from surgical stainless steel for repeated use with proper cleaning and sterilization. Each instrument undergoes quality inspection before these are dispatched for order. The quality inspection team gives special attention to its construction, surface finish, and overall workmanship.
The DeBakey Peripheral Clamp with curved shanks and a 45° angle is available in 19 cm and 26 cm lengths. Both sizes feature narrow serrated jaws, angled shanks, oval finger rings, and a ratchet lock. The main difference between them is the overall length.
