Description

The DeBakey Tangential Occlusion Clamp has curved shanks and an angled working end. The jaws are long and narrow, with fine serrations along the inner gripping surfaces. The bent tips give the clamp a distinct shape, allowing it to approach a vessel from the side rather than directly from the front.

This pattern comes in five different lengths: 20 cm (8″), 25 cm (10″), 26 cm (10¼”), 26.5 cm (10½”), and 27 cm (10¾”). The general jaw shape remains similar across these sizes, while the overall length changes. This range gives customers a choice of instrument length for different surgical requirements.

The jaws have a short angled section at the tip, followed by a longer curve that runs back towards the joint. There are fine serrations that extend along the inner surfaces. The shanks are curved rather than straight, and the bend near the working end is one of the main features of this pattern.

The handles have two oval finger rings and a ratchet lock near the joint. The lock holds the jaws closed when engaged and can be released to open them. The long arms connect the handles to the angled jaws, with the same general handle arrangement across the available lengths.
