The Gillies Combined Needle Holder / Scissors puts a needle holder and a pair of scissors into one instrument. It is used for suturing in plastic, reconstructive, maxillofacial, and facial surgery, where the needle can be held and the suture cut with the same instrument.

The jaws have tungsten carbide surfaces for holding the needle. They provide a firm grip and are made to withstand the wear that comes with repeated use.
