Description

The Hexagonal Head is designed for handling hexagonal head screws during orthopedic procedures. It measures 25 cm (10″) in length and has a straight metal shaft with a broad black handle. The working end is shaped to fit into a hexagonal screw recess, giving the user a direct connection between the handle and screw.

Two hexagonal head options are provided. The first has a 2.5 mm hex tip and is intended for 2.7 mm to 3.5 mm screws. The second has a 3.5 mm hex tip and is intended for 4.5 mm to 6.5 mm screws. The different tip sizes allow the appropriate head to be selected for the screw being handled.

The shaft is straight and relatively narrow, keeping the working end easy to position around the screw. The hexagonal tip sits at the very end of the shaft, so it can be aligned directly with the recess before the screw is turned. A proper fit between the tip and screw helps keep the instrument seated during use.

At 25 cm (10″), the shaft provides useful reach when the screw is positioned deeper in the operative field. The black handle is wider than the shaft and has a rounded, slightly tapered shape. It gives the hand a solid surface to hold while turning the instrument and allows the user to adjust their grip as needed.

The two tip options cover different screw sizes, with the 2.5 mm hex intended for the smaller screw range and the 3.5 mm hex for the larger range. The correct tip should be fully engaged with the screw before rotational force is applied.
