Description
The Hohmann Bone Elevator is used to retract soft tissue and expose bone during orthopedic, trauma, and reconstructive procedures. This version has a wider working blade than the smaller Hohmann models, making it suitable when a larger area needs to be held away from the operative site.
Its 18 mm wide blade has a curved retaining lip at the end. The lip helps keep the elevator in position against the bone while the surrounding tissue is held back. The wider blade can be used around long bones and joint structures where more surface area is needed for retraction.
The overall length is 24 cm (9½”), giving the instrument additional reach for deeper surgical sites. It is available in standard and sharp versions, so the appropriate style can be selected according to the procedure and the surgeon’s preference.
The handle provides enough length to work comfortably while the blade remains positioned at the operative site. The curved end is the defining part of the instrument, particularly when the elevator needs to stay against the bone during exposure.
Made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, it is intended for repeated surgical use and routine sterilization. The stainless steel construction also gives the instrument the durability and corrosion resistance needed for regular instrument processing.
The Hohmann Bone Elevator combines an 18 mm curved blade with a 24 cm overall length for orthopedic procedures requiring broader tissue retraction and access to bone.
