Description
The Intervertebral Disc Rongeur is used for removing disc material during discectomy, decompression, and other spinal procedures. This model has a 40° downward jaw, giving the working end a different angle for reaching the disc space. The downward position can be useful when the area being worked on is easier to approach from above.
The angled jaw also gives the user more room to position the handle without having to keep the whole instrument in a straight line. This can make a difference when working in a smaller or deeper area, especially when the available space around the working site is limited.
The rongeur comes in bite sizes from 1 mm to 7 mm. The smaller sizes are suitable for taking out smaller amounts of disc material, while the larger bites can be used when more material needs to be removed at once. There are three shaft lengths to choose from: 15 cm (6″), 18 cm (7″), and 20 cm (8″).
