Description

The Maltz Nasal Rasp Tungsten Carbide is used for smoothing and reshaping bone during nasal surgery. It measures 18.5 cm / 7½” and has a textured rasping surface at one end with a long, rounded handle at the other. The narrow working end makes it easy to direct toward specific areas of the nasal framework.

The tungsten carbide surface is suited to gradual bone reduction. Instead of taking away a larger section at once, the rasp removes small amounts with repeated strokes. This makes it useful when the surface needs to be brought down slowly or when minor irregularities need to be worked out.

In rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, it can be used to smooth the nasal dorsum, reduce small bony irregularities, and refine the contour after osteotomy or other bone work. It is especially useful during the finishing part of a procedure, when the changes being made are smaller and more precise.

The long handle provides a comfortable grip for the back-and-forth movement used with a nasal rasp. Its rounded shape sits naturally in the hand, while the narrow working end can be guided over the area being treated. The 18.5 cm length also gives useful reach around the nasal framework.

The instrument has a surgical stainless steel construction with a tungsten carbide working surface, combining a durable reusable body with a hard rasping surface. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. Our quality inspectors check the rasping surface, shaft, handle, finish, and overall construction to ensure each instrument meets our required standards.

For nasal contouring, the Maltz Nasal Rasp Tungsten Carbide is intended for gradual smoothing and refinement rather than heavy bone removal. The textured carbide surface allows small adjustments to be made across the nasal framework, making it suitable for finishing work during rhinoplasty and related nasal procedures.
