Description

The Marten Flap Forceps is used for accurate marking of skin flaps before excision. Its narrow working end makes it suitable for grasping and marking a section of flap without taking up much space around the operative area. It can be used during procedures where the boundaries of a skin flap need to be identified clearly before tissue is removed.

The forceps has a slender shaft leading to the working end, with ring handles at the opposite side. The fine ends come together to hold the flap while the marking is made. The shape allows the instrument to be positioned along the edge of the tissue and moved as needed while planning the excision.

It measures 14.5 cm (5¾”) overall. This length keeps the instrument easy to handle while providing enough distance between the user’s hand and the area being marked. The long, slim profile also helps when working on smaller or more detailed sections of skin.

Two versions are available: without a ratchet and with a ratchet. The non-ratchet version allows the forceps to be opened and closed directly by hand. The ratchet model adds a locking mechanism, which can hold the forceps in position once the tissue has been grasped.

Made from surgical-grade stainless steel, it is intended for repeated surgical use. The material provides durability and resistance to corrosion when the instrument is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
