Description
The McGlamry Metatarsal Elevator is used in foot surgery for elevating and mobilizing the metatarsal structures. It can be used to lift or dislocate the metatarsal head and to create access to the operative area. The instrument is intended for orthopedic and podiatric procedures involving the forefoot.
The working end has a sharp tip for periosteal elevation and soft tissue release around the metatarsal region. This allows the surgeon to work close to the bone when additional exposure or tissue separation is needed.
The instrument measures 17 cm (6½”) overall and has an anatomically contoured handle. Four working-end widths are available: 9 mm, 11 mm, 15 mm, and 17 mm, giving options for different surgical requirements and patient anatomy.
The different blade widths make the elevator suitable for a range of forefoot procedures. The handle provides a secure area to hold the instrument while the working end is positioned around the metatarsal head or adjacent tissue.
It is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, and designed for repeated use and routine surgical sterilization. Proper cleaning and maintenance help preserve the finish and corrosion resistance of the steel.
With its sharp working end, contoured handle, and choice of four widths, the McGlamry Metatarsal Elevator is suited to metatarsal elevation, mobilization, periosteal elevation, and soft tissue release during foot surgery.
