The Micro Fracture Chondro-Pick – Regular Shaft 6 mm is designed for micro fracture procedures involving cartilage defects in medium and large joints. It has a 6 mm diameter regular shaft, giving the instrument a more substantial profile while retaining the long, narrow form needed to position the working tip accurately within the joint.

The working end is offered in five tip angles: Straight, 25°, 40°, 60°, and 90°. Each angle provides a different approach to the cartilage surface. The straight version follows the shaft directly, while the angled tips allow the working end to be positioned from different directions when access to the defect is limited.

The five configurations share the same 6 mm regular shaft pattern. Choosing between them mainly depends on the direction from which the cartilage defect needs to be approached. Keeping the shaft diameter consistent across the range also makes it easier to select a preferred tip angle without changing the basic handle and shaft design.

The instrument has an ergonomic carbon fibre handle with impact protection, intended for use with the specially designed mallet. The handle provides a substantial gripping area, while the impact protection helps shield the handle during controlled mallet use. This combination keeps the hand comfortably positioned behind the working shaft.

The working tip is made from hardened stainless steel for repeated professional use. Before use, the tip should be checked for alignment and wear, while the shaft and handle should be inspected for bending, damage, or other changes that could affect handling. Cleaning and sterilization should follow the appropriate instrument-reprocessing procedure.
