Description
The Morris Retractor is used to hold back tissue and improve access to the operative area during abdominal surgery. It has a long, straight handle with a broad, curved blade at one end. The blade turns downward from the shaft and has a smooth, rounded profile, while the handle ends in an elongated opening for the fingers.
The overall length is 25 cm (9¾”). Two blade depths are available: 50 mm and 70 mm. Each depth comes in three widths, 40 mm, 50 mm, and 65 mm. This gives six size combinations, allowing the blade to be selected according to the area that needs to be retracted.
The blade is shaped like a shallow scoop, with a curved surface and a rounded outer edge. Its width provides a broad area for contact with the tissue. The long handle keeps the hand away from the incision, and the textured section near the finger opening provides a gripping surface during use.
This retractor is commonly used in abdominal and general surgery to hold soft tissue or the edges of an incision aside. It may be used during laparotomy and other open abdominal procedures when the surgeon needs a clearer view of deeper structures. The choice of blade width and depth depends on the incision and the amount of tissue being held back.
The instrument is made from surgical stainless steel for repeated use in the operating room. Before dispatch, every piece goes through our quality inspection process. The blade, handle, joining area, and surface finish are checked for defects, rough edges, and proper construction.
With its 25 cm length, curved blade, and six available size combinations, the Morris Retractor provides several options for tissue retraction during open abdominal procedures. Blade depths of 50 mm and 70 mm are available, each in widths of 40 mm, 50 mm, and 65 mm.
