Description
The Muller Bone Curette is used for removing and scooping bone or tissue during orthopedic procedures. It has a 27 cm (9¾”) length and a long, narrow shaft that keeps the handle away from the working area. The curette is fitted with a rounded cup at the end and has a Tufnol handle.
There are three cup sizes: small 9 mm Ø, medium 13 mm Ø, and large 27 mm Ø. The smaller cups allow more focused work, while the larger cup can remove a wider amount of material with each movement. The three sizes give some choice depending on the area being treated.
The cup is slightly curved and has a hollow center for collecting the material as it is scraped or scooped. The shaft is straight and slim, making it easier to position the cup into the area being treated without bringing the handle too close to the operative site.
The standard instrument is 27 cm (9¾”) long, while the large 27 mm cup version is 24 cm long. This difference in length is worth noting when selecting the instrument. The Tufnol handle provides a broad surface for holding and guiding the curette during use.
The metal working section is made from premium surgical-grade stainless steel, with the cup and shaft carefully finished for repeated professional use. Each instrument is checked for quality, including the cup, shaft, handle connection, and overall finish. The cup should be inspected before use for damage or deformation, particularly around its edge.
With its three cup sizes and long-handled design, the Muller Bone Curette provides different options for controlled bone removal during orthopedic procedures.
