Description

The Obwegeser Soft Tissue Retractor is designed for retracting and holding soft tissue away from the surgical field during maxillofacial, plastic, and oral procedures. It measures 22 cm / 8¾” and has a concave blade with a curved down profile. The angled working end allows the retractor to reach into the surgical area while the long shaft keeps the handle away from the immediate field.

It is available with blade lengths of 35 mm, 42 mm, 55 mm, 70 mm, and 80 mm, with corresponding widths of 10 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, and 16 mm. The smaller blades are useful for more confined areas, while the wider options provide broader tissue contact. The different sizes allow the retractor to be selected according to the area being exposed.

This retractor is used to hold back soft tissue, muscles, and mucoperiosteal flaps during maxillofacial and oral surgery. The concave blade provides a broad surface for retracting tissue while helping maintain exposure of the underlying surgical site. Its curved-down profile can be positioned according to the depth and direction of the area being accessed.

The long shaft gives the surgeon useful reach, and the ring-style handle provides a secure grip when positioning and holding the retractor in place.
