Description

The Russian Tumour Forceps are designed for grasping and handling tissue during surgical procedures where a firm hold is needed. Their broad working ends make them suitable for manipulating tumour tissue and other soft tissue while the surgeon works around the operative site. The forceps are straightforward in design, with the gripping surface doing most of the work.

The jaws have a serrated surface rather than a smooth finish. The serrations give the tissue something to hold against, helping reduce slipping when the forceps are used to lift, position, or move tissue. The broader tips also provide more contact than a very fine dissecting forceps, which can be useful when handling a larger section of tissue.

Two lengths are available: 20 cm (8″) and 25 cm (10″). The shorter version offers a more compact option for procedures where the working area is relatively close, while the 25 cm pattern provides additional reach when the operative field is deeper. Having both lengths allows the surgeon to choose according to the access required rather than using one size for every procedure.

These have long handles leading to rounded, serrated jaws. This gives the instrument a relatively simple profile and leaves the working end easy to position around the tissue. The longer pattern can also keep the surgeon’s hand further from the immediate operative area when additional reach is needed.

The serrated jaws are the main working feature of the instrument, so their condition and alignment are important. Before use, the tips should meet correctly and the serrations should be free from damage or deformation. Proper cleaning, sterilization, and handling are also important when the forceps are used repeatedly in a surgical setting.

The Russian Tumour Forceps are manufactured from premium surgical-grade stainless steel for repeated surgical use. Each instrument undergoes quality inspection to check the alignment and condition of the serrated jaws, along with the overall finish and construction. Proper cleaning, sterilization, and handling help maintain the forceps through repeated use.
