Description

Super Fine Castroviejo Micro Needle Holder is a small needle holder for microsurgical suturing. It has a flat handle and a curved working end, with very fine jaws measuring 0.2 mm. The instrument is made for handling small needles during procedures where ordinary needle holders are too large for the work.

The jaws are curved and meet at the front in a narrow tip. They are suitable for very small suture needles, including 10/0 and 11/0 sutures. The short jaw section keeps the needle close to the tip of the instrument and allows it to be placed in a small working area.

The instrument measures 14 cm (5½”) overall. The handle is flat rather than round, with a textured section along the inside for holding the instrument. There is no locking mechanism on this pattern. The jaws are opened and closed by pressing the handle, giving the user direct control over the needle at the working end.

It can be used for fine suturing in microvascular, vascular, plastic, reconstructive, and other microsurgical procedures. The curved jaws are useful when the needle needs to be approached from a particular direction. With 10/0 and 11/0 sutures, the holder is suited to very small vessels and other delicate tissue where a fine needle and small working end are required.

The needle holder is made from surgical stainless steel with a smooth metal surface. The 0.2 mm jaws are finished carefully so they meet correctly when closed and can hold a fine needle.
